In the second half of the 19th century, the middle class affected literature and art by, artist starting to depict things as they saw them and as they really were. An imagination in art started to rely on the realist paintings that had depicted everyday life, accurate portrayals, things that stood for their objectives, and primary interiors. This change made two things occur in the art and literature areas, like modern scenes started to arise as a form of human thought, and failure of revolutions in 1848. This occurred in various parts of Europe because of disillusionment.

The social changes altered the lives of the musicians and composers. In the early days, musicians worked for a church, or court and were known to be servants for those that they worked for, and not only were they musicians, they also worked in the areas that they performed. They were known as servants of aristocrat circles, and with the rise of the middle class, many more people wanted to be a part of the music era. This means that people didn't normally want to be musicians and perform, they were just servants for the court and as the middle class rose, more people tried to be musicians and interact with music education.

Literally, to be a musician became popular, and new musical forms were created like large scale - symphonic instruments, tone poems, bigger orchestras, and bigger strings, brass, and percussion instruments, also woodwinds. Then what came into effect was musicians who would dazzle their audience, would become superstars and be big idols as a musician that everyone liked. and as the middle class arose changes in music also arose, making instruments change and artist became more popular.
