Example of Pythagorean Theorem

Go Back

Randomly pick 2 out of the 3 values for the letters in the Pythagorean Theorem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2. Illustrate the calculations to figure out the missing side. Show all of the steps in your posting.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2.

IF A = 10, B = 5^2, WHAT IS C

10^2 + 5^2 = C^2

100 + 25 = 125

125 = C^2

C^2 = 125

SQUARE ROOT BOTH SIDES

C = SQUARE ROOT OF 125 WHICH = 11.1803399

THUS 11.1803399 * 11.1803399 = 125

C = 11.1803399
